TCC Library Mission & Policy

Overview

Overview

This section outlines behaviors that are not acceptable as well as rules that need to be followed to ensure the safety and security of all patrons in the Library.

Disruptive Activity and Noise

Disruptive Activity and Noise

Activity and noise guidelines must be displayed in the Library for patrons. Patrons may be asked to lower their voices or leave the Library if conversation or activity disrupts the learning environment. Phones are permitted in the Library and are subject to the same restrictions as normal conversation. Ringers must be turned off.

Minors in the Library

Minors in the Library

Faculty, staff, students, and other adults who bring a child to TCC facilities maintain the sole responsibility for the safety of that child. No child may be left alone on campus at any time for any reason. The responsible adult is accountable for the child’s safety and behavior and must ensure that the child complies with the directions of College personnel. TCC facilities may not be used for unsupervised child care.

If children are left in the Library unattended, Library staff should immediately contact TCC Police. Library staff should ask patrons with children who disrupt the Library environment to leave.
