TCC Hotspot and Laptop Loan Program

Semester-Long Checkout Program

Eligibility

Eligibility

TCC's Hotspot and Laptop Loan Program is designed to assist students who demonstrate a need for a hotspot and/or laptop.

Students must be enrolled in at least one class to be eligible.

Supply is limited. One hotspot can be checked out per household.

Students who check out a hotspot or laptop will be required to complete an agreement form.

Terms and Conditions

  • Devices are property of Tulsa Community College.

  • The student must comply with TCC's computer use policy while using devices.

  • Devices should be used primarily for academic purposes.

  • If student withdraws from or drops all classes, the devices must be returned to the Metro Campus Library immediately.

  • If a device is lost or stolen, it is the student's responsibility to notify the TCC Library at 918-595-7172 and complete a report to TCC Police immediately.

  • It is the student's responsibility to report any device condition issues (scratches, broken bezels, or other cosmetic damage) they want noted at the time of checkout.

  • The student is responsible for supplying a bag or case for the laptop, and any necessary peripherals (e.g. mouse, headphones, printer, etc.).

  • The student is responsible for downloading and installing Office 365 from MyTCC.

  • The student is responsible for removing and erasing any personal information from the laptop.

  • TCC is not responsible for any lost data, documents, or applications the student may have saved to the laptop. Devices will be restored to default, meaning everything will be erased upon return.

  • The student may download and install applications but cannot otherwise alter the device. This includes alterations of the operating system, hardware, and application of external skins or stickers. Alterations will be considered damage and result in charges for repair.

  • Devices are due back to the Metro Library on the Monday after the last day of the semester they are checked out, unless the student is enrolling for the next semester.

  • Devices cannot be dropped in the library book drop. Devices must be returned directly to a library staff person, only.

  • The student must allow 15 minutes for the return process, which will include a thorough check of the device condition.

  • Devices are checked out on a semester-by-semester basis.

  • The student may request to renew devices, without having to bring the devices back to the library, provided they are consistently enrolled.

  • It is the student's responsibility to fill out the online request form to renew devices each semester.

  • If the student fails to renew a device, it will be considered late or lost and replacement fees will be applied to their bursar account.

  • The student is solely responsible for any loss or damage to devices checked out to them.

  • TCC does not provide insurance for devices but the student may purchase their own independent electronic device insurance themself, or contact their insurance provider to see if the devices are already covered by their current insurance plan.

  • The student will be charged a replacement fee for a missing and/or damaged device and accessories. Replacement fees are, but not limited to the following:

    • Laptop - $550.00

    • Laptop Charging Cord - $35.00

    • Cracked screen - $200.00

    • Hotspot - $140.00

    • Hotspot Charging Cord - $15.00

    • Hotspot Case - $5.00

  • Any charges will be sent to the Bursar’s Office for collection and may prevent the student from registering for classes, obtaining diploma/transcripts, and/or graduating until paid in full.

  • Any and all replacement/repair fees I have accrued must be paid in full before the student may renew or check out another device.

As of 7-22-22 we are out of laptops to lend. If you apply for a laptop you will be placed on our waiting list until one becomes available.
