Availability and Pickup

Availability and Pickup

The Metro Library has a limited supply of hotspots and laptops that can be picked up in person on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last.

To see if there are any hotspots or laptops available for checkout, please visit the Metro Library in person or call the Metro Library Info Desk at 918-595-7172.

We no longer require online applications or pickup appointments, and there are no waiting lists or reservations available.

Eligibility will be verified at time of checkout.

Students must provide a valid photo ID.

Due to limited supply, we may not be able to provide devices to all students who need them.

Due Dates

Due Date / Renewal Deadline

Hotspots and laptops are due to be renewed or returned by the Monday after the semester ends.

Devices should be returned in person to staff at the Metro Library.

Devices checked out for the Spring 2024 semester are due to be renewed or returned by Monday, May 13, 2024.

Terms

Terms and Conditions

  • Devices are the property of Tulsa Community College. They must be returned to TCC Metro Campus Library at the end of the checkout period.

  • If a hotspot is not returned or renewed by the due date, service will be shut off.

  • The student must comply with TCC's computer use policy while using devices.

  • Devices should be used primarily for academic purposes.

  • If the student withdraws from or drops all classes, the devices must be returned to the Metro Campus Library immediately.

  • If a device is lost, it is the student's responsibility to notify the TCC Library at 918-595-7172.

  • If a device is stolen, it is the student's responsibility to notify the TCC Library at 918-595-7172 and complete a report to TCC Police immediately.

  • The student is responsible for paying the replacement fee for any lost devices, even if the loss is due to theft.

  • It is the student's responsibility to report any device condition issues (scratches, broken bezels, or other cosmetic damage) they want to be noted at the time of checkout.

  • The student is responsible for supplying a bag or case for the laptop, and any necessary peripherals (e.g. mouse, headphones, printer, etc.).

  • The student is responsible for downloading and installing Office 365 from MyTCC.

  • The student is responsible for backing up any important documents stored on the laptop. It is highly recommended that the student back up all files to their own external storage device or cloud storage service.

  • TCC is not responsible for any lost data, documents, or applications the student may have saved to the laptop. Upon return, the laptop hard drive will be reformatted and restored to default, meaning everything will be erased.

  • The student is not required to remove personal data from the laptop before returning, however, the student is responsible for protecting their privacy by deleting any sensitive information.

  • The student may download and install applications but cannot otherwise alter the laptop. This includes alterations to the hardware, the laptop enclosure, and the application of external skins or stickers. Alterations will be considered damage and result in charges for repair.

  • Devices are due back to the Metro Library on the Monday after the last day of the semester they are checked out.

  • Devices cannot be dropped in the library book drop. Devices must be returned directly to a library staff person, only.

  • The student must allow 15 minutes for the return process, which will include a thorough check of the device's condition.

  • Devices are checked out on a semester-by-semester basis.

  • The student may request to renew devices each semester, without having to bring the devices back to the library, provided they are consistently enrolled.

  • It is the student's responsibility to fill out the online request form to renew devices each semester.

  • If the student fails to renew a device, it will be considered late or lost and replacement fees will be applied to their bursar account.

  • The student is solely responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to devices checked out to them.

  • TCC does not provide insurance for devices but the student may purchase their own independent electronic device insurance or contact their insurance provider to see if the devices are already covered by their current insurance plan.

  • The student will be charged a replacement fee for any lost, stolen, or damaged devices and accessories. Replacement fees are, but are not limited to the following:

    • Laptop - $550.00

    • Laptop Charging Cord - $35.00

    • Hotspot Case - $5.00

  • Any charges will be sent to the Bursar’s Office for collection and may prevent the student from registering for classes, obtaining a diploma/transcripts, and/or graduating until paid in full.

  • Any and all replacement/repair fees the student has accrued must be paid in full before the student may renew or check out another device.
